“He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces.” (Isaiah 25:8)
Just like you i very much looked forward to this all important Holy week Christian holiday, commemorating events leading up to the suffering and death of christ, climaxing at the resurrection. Maundy thursday honors Jesus last supper with the disciples, Good friday – the day of his crucifixion, Holy Saturday – the day between death and resurrection, Easter Sunday – He rose from the dead.
I feel really privileged that God found me worthy to let his only begotten son to die on the cross on my behalf. He suffered pain and shame thousands of years ago – even before i was born that i might live the life i now have. By the glory of the Father, Christ was raised from the dead , so that you and i can walk in the newness of life. – Romans 6:4
Even the enemy(devil) asks in the scriptures “who is man that thou art mindful of him?”. No wonder he (God) said that “Before you were formed I knew you and before you were born i set you apart“. Friends he is truly an intentional God. How loving of him to not die for only the saved but also the unsaved!
Look past your worries and just love God (by simply loving your neighbor). If you have been down and weary about life, consider it a privilege to be able to share in the suffering of Christ and see this time as an opportunity to start afresh. Embrace your new life in Christ and hold on to the revelation in his word “He who spared not his own son, but offered him up on the cross, How shall he not with him also freely give us ALL things?” – Romans 8:32
Easter means more than Christ’s death, it means that we no longer have to see death as pain and captivity. Because of his resurrection, death is now symbolic of the way into God’s holy presence. Christ is at the right hand constantly interceding on our behalf. Today when we pray in Jesus’ name we go boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find Grace in time of need. – Heb 4:16
Just incase you are seeing this but still in doubt, It has actually been established that there is more evidence for the proof of Christ’s resurrection historically, than any other known event in history. More significant to me is the fact that the tomb is most famous for what it does not contain and not what it contains!
Now about the eggs…..
The Easter eggs decoration is a practice that originated from Mesopotamia. It traditionally represented Fertility and Rebirth. In modern day christianity this is done symbolically, The hard egg being the sealed tomb, and it’s cracking representing the resurrection from the dead. The modern practice substitutes with chocolate egg wrapped in foil or plastic eggs filled with candy or chocolates. Children are made to search for the hidden eggs on Easter sunday morning, which would have been left by Easter Bunny – very similar to the Christmas Santa Claus. Interesting!!!!! Fun stuff i never knew!
About my last post on the eggs, I did go to complain and the seller thought i was someone else. He was like “yes, you called me on the phone right?” In my mind i was like ‘thank God i am not the only one’. I guess someone else had called with similar complaints. They promised to complain to the supplier and offered to give me a replacement too. How nice of them? I did not collect shaaa. Let me finish the new ones i bought first!
Have a wonderful celebration, fam! Happy Easter!!
