TRAVEL LIGHT: An Important tip for the journey Ahead

This is not the first time you are hearing the phrase “Travel Light”. Maybe it was your parents, your friends/colleagues, the travel agent or even the airline officials, perhaps a travel tip on their website. All these people have two things in common; experience or expertise. Hold that thought right there, lets dive in

WIKIPEDIA defines travel as “the movement of people between relatively distant geographical locations, and can involve travel by foot, bicycle, automobile, train, boat, bus, airplane, or other means, with or without luggage, and can be one way or round trip”.

The fact that its between two distant locations, makes it necessary to travel with everything you possibly can right?. Well the reality is that whatever your means of travel, or how far you’ll go, just arrive your destination with the essential stuff.

There is a science behind the art of movement.

The physicists have postulated that a certain momentum is required to cover longer distances in a short time. Momentum is a factor of weight/mass and force. No matter how much force if the weigh is too much, it dampens the potency of the force and efficiency of the vessel of conduit. This explains why two vehicles can set out for a particular destination at the same time but the overloaded vehicle; if it manages to make it in perfect condition, arrives last. Be sure to also find engine faults, weakened tyres (and the likes) after several of such trips.

For this journey you must finish strong.

In life’s journey, when we set out, we start as a tiny winy clueless being. Time progresses and by virtue of the nurturing and grooming we receive, we develop and begin exploring. Our experiences and environment impact us and become a major player in how we arrive our destination. The force for motion comes from within, a function of inner selfwill, while the weight/load comes from our external environments. Gaining momentum for life’s journey then becomes a product of self (decisions, actions, desires), formed through the exposures and experiences, backed by deliberate action.

Learn to Add by subtracting.

No matter how fired you are to progress in life, not everything around you is essential for where you are going. Remember the journey of life is long and lonely, unlike the regular trips where someone may offer to help out with your too many baggage because they don’t have the extra; too many stuff will slow you down, so just take the essentials. In this journey, everyone has got some dirt, all the extras and they will need help too, i mean….a dumping ground, you don’t have to be the one. The best thing you can do for your self therefore is to travel light from the beginning. You don’t need everyone either just those that will always roll with you. Be in charge and be enough for yourself. You will need space for some good stuff/ treasure you will find on your way because better days are ahead. When you can see how exciting your destination is, you’ll know what/who doesn’t fit in. Just take them out!

Success loves speed.

What/who you carry along determines how far you go. Many times as we transition through defining phases of life, we get worked up, fear creeps up, insecurities join in, then envy, jealousy and unforgiveness, too often, that of self. All this weigh us down and no matter how self motivated we are, the enthusiasm to keep going is attacked. Sour associations will bring/add to the weight that hurts, so be discerning enough to know you don’t need to please everyone and be quick to move on. That’s how real speed for the journey comes.

It has to be you who creates your success or failure, No one else will, You already have what it takes, so be present in your own world and advice yourself through your own experience and expertise.

Life is what you bring to it.

Our exposures and experiences make us, as much as we create them.
They impact our energy level, either to amplify it or dampen it. Collect moments not things and be discerning enough not to drop off and pick up the wrong things. Sometimes the experiences of others is all exposure that you need. Hence, not every exposure is good for you.If you must journey long enough in life you must keep it simple. Don’t take everything too personal. Don’t tight the world to your chest ooo!

Leave behind every disappointment, faults and habits that did not pay off in the years past and bring those little victories into 2018. Dwell on them, amplify it in your mind, and be empowered to succeed at all cost. When you start seeing your worth, you won’t waste your time on things and people who don’t add to it. Travel light. Comb and toothbrush and no extra luggage. “Don’t loiter and make small talk with everyone you meet along the way. “When you enter a home, greet the family, ‘Peace.’
If your greeting is received, then it’s a good place to stay. But if it’s not received, take it back and get out. Don’t impose yourself. – Luke 10: 4-6
